Herbaceous Plants
Herbaceous plants, with their non-woody stems, reach their full height and flower within one year. They die over winter and then re-appear in the spring, ready to start the process again. All annual plants are herbaceous, but annuals tend to die completely at the end of their growing season, even below ground.
Evergreen Shrubs
Evergreen shrubs are known to provide structure, all year interest, and tend to be easier to care for, saving labour. These shrubs can be used to fill gaps in borders, so picking the right sized shrub is important. This will also help to reduce the need for unnecessary moving or pruning. Evergreen shrubs are also a favourite when it comes to privacy hedges, due to their year-round greenery.
Specimen Shrubs
Big, bold and beautiful – these specimen shrubs are real stars of the show, designed to deliver impact as soon as possible. Specimen shrubs offer an ornamental effect, providing excellent focal points in landscape design. The Latin root spec- means “to look at”, so it’s no surprise that these shrubs should take centre stage.
Evergreen Screening
Screening can be used to direct the eye towards a specific feature or soften surroundings. Evergreens maintain leaf cover all year round, although you might find they drop some leaves in the winter. Evergreen screening can also help to reduce noise levels in an area, as well as adding wildlife value as birds love to nest in the dense foliage.
Topiary
We have a range of Topiary options available, to add creative interest and in some cases, a sense of fantasy, to any landscape. From lavish clipped Parterres and knot garden gems to mazes and labyrinths, you’ll find a wide selection to add a touch of class and excitement to your project. There is always room for a clipped masterpiece!
Grasses
Grasses can be used as screens, coloured grasses can be used for accents or focal points, and ornamental grasses are an easy way to add texture and year-round colour to a scene. You can also use grasses to soften sharper landscaping features such as walls or paving; this creates a more inviting feel.
Tall Hedging
We offer a range of tree staking and tie kits, which contain everything needed to securely stake trees. It is especially important to stake newly planted trees to avoid root rock and allow the trees to establish more easily.
